Nota d'usoVicious non significa in genere “vizioso”, ma “crudele, malvagio”: a vicious person, una persona cattiva, a vicious comment, un commento crudele, a vicious attack on his reputation, un attacco malvagio alla sua reputazione. A vicious circle è “un circolo vizioso”: the vicious circle of debt, il circolo vizioso del debito. Non bisogna confondere vicious con viscous, che significa “viscoso”: viscous oil, olio viscoso.
